Well, as many of you know this a sad new, Michael Stephen Portnoy just leaves his band Dream Theater. I have to say it's a shocking new from me, because I knew the band 5 years ago, and obviously, Mike is the "Spirit" from Dream Theater. Mike Portnoy says in an interview late September the 10th 2010 that he wanted to take a long break in order to re-organise his ideas and all his projects he has. "No, I don't leave Dream Theater definetely, it's just a break, a long break by the way.... DT is my baby". That means Mike will back to the band, but even thought, nobody knows. Mike has different projects than Dream Theater such as, Transatlantic, AvengedSevenfold, Liquid Tension Experiment and experiments and DVD's he usually makes from a thousand of his fans.
To my mind, that's the best thing Mike has ever do, because I feel DT needs a break. 25 years of tour-studio session-disc-tour is a tired lifestyle. It's a shame DT continue without Mike, but however Mike himself suggested to the rest of the members take a break instead of get record next January 2011. Despite Portnoy's advertising, the band decided to continue to the plans, so they're gonna record next Dream Theater album even if there's no drummer. However, I think Mike is going to colaborate to the next album, but he doesn't accurate to DT from 2011-2012 tour...
So on, all Dream Theater fans hope Mike comes back from Dream Theater again with all his energies in order to compose amazing music!... Good energy Mike!!!
